MoMA Exclusive: Designer Reiko Sudo works exclusively with weavers and dyers in Kiryu, Japan, combining traditional practices with modern technologies to create original and distinctive textiles for her line Nuno (“fabric” in Japanese). This Threadstray Open-Weave Felted Wool Scarf was made using a needle-punching technique similar to felting. Wear yours to add a bold and graphic finishing touch to any look. Please note that each scarf is cut from a larger piece of fabric, so variations may occur, making each scarf unique. Sudo’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection and her designs were featured in the Museum’s 1998 exhibition Structure and Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles.
