Making Plans

"When all comes to it, I love the fact that I’m sitting here making plans. Plans that include you. I don’t even know what shape they’ll take yet—if they’ll be big or small, tomorrow or years from now—but it feels good to imagine a future with your name in it. There’s a comfort in writing you into the margins of my thoughts, like a promise I don’t have to say out loud. Maybe that’s what planning really is: not the details, but the quiet joy of knowing who you want beside you when the time comes.
