What is a DeWitt Tree Wrap?
DeWitt Tree Wrap is made from polypropylene fabric and easily conforms to fit any tree shape or bark texture.

Why use DeWitt Tree Wrap?
DeWitt Tree Wrap is beneficial for all newly planted trees to protect against "Frost Crack" or "Sunscald", which is what happens when the bark of the tree warms up during the day and then freezes at night throughout the winter. When the weather warms up in the winter the tree will start moving water through the trunk quickly. It then will freeze and can cause the trunk to crack from the expanding water. The crack then leaves the tree open for pests to enter and cause harm. Using DeWitt Tree Wrap will also prevent damage to the bark of the tree caused by Rodents and Deer.

Will DeWitt Tree Wrap work for my new tree?
DeWitt Tree Wrap is ideal for any newly planted single stem tree. Especially important for Maple and Linden trees, but beneficial for any newly planted tree.

How is DeWitt Tree Wrap installed?
Installation is easy and requires no tools! Always start at the bottom of your tree. Bury the end of the wrap in the soil/mulch and then work your way up the trunk so it has a single effect. Wrap up the tree as far as the lowest branch with a slight overlap, then cut the excess off. Keep your tree wrapped from the end of November through March, remove and discard. Never leave the wrap on longer than necessary. This could trap moisture and create a haven for pests. Wrap all newly planted trees each November for the first 3 years.
